Unit Impact

The difference between GHG emissions released by a single unit of an innovation and a single unit of the status quo/ incumbent technology (or representative mix of technologies).

This difference represents the amount of emissions averted or increased per-unit if the innovation were to be used instead of the status quo. As the number of units sold increases, the differences in total emissions averted or increased amplifies by the same amount. In Project Frame, innovations intend to avert emissions, but it's important to start from an unbiased point of view.
